The Turkomans claim to be descendants of Oghuz Khan, who was of Turkic origin.
                                Their earliest settlements were concentrated in Central Asia, and since, seen them
                                through Iran, USSR and Afghanistan.

                                Turkoman rugs are traditionally products of tribes, such as the Esaris, Beshire, Salor
                                and Yamout. Among all rugs, the Turkoman rugs are the easiest to identify because of
                                its faithful adherence to conformity of design and colour.

                                This particular Turkoman is of Russian origin, making this group extremely rare and
                                collectable. The design is of the camel foot. The material of handspun wool is of the
                                finest. An excellent carpet in perfect condition. Possibly, early 20th century.
