PERSIAN QASVIN: A small town about 160 kilometres north east of Tehran. Qasvin carpets resemble the Kashan in some colour tones and design, but the unique characteristic of the Qasvin pattern is, that even the smallest pattern is evident. The last year of production of the Qasvin was around 1930-1935. Today, Qasvin no longer produces carpets. This remarkable piece is proof of
the mastery of the Qasvin weavers, who have managed to instill the most delicate of floral
patterns together with the most remarkable colours throughout. An excellent acquisition,
in perfect condition. Circa 1930-1940. |
