PERSIAN BIJAR Definitely a carpet
worthy of that tribal collection. Possibly, late last century , this Bijar, knotted of
handspun wool pile on wool base, has the firmness and compactness so readily associated
with the type. The natural dyes have taken on a lovely patina over time and is
reflected in the warm glow of the carpet. The design has a strong resemblance to that of
the herati. All in all, a perfect antique, rarely to be found today.
